How we rank companies
A directory is only useful if you can trust the order. Here's exactly how ours works — no black box, no paid placement.
Licensed companies only
Every company in this directory holds a Pennsylvania pesticide application business license (categories 11–13), verified against the PA Department of Agriculture registry. Companies that fail registry verification are excluded — not downgraded, excluded.
Ranked by verified public ratings
Rank score = Google rating × log(review count + 1) × profile completeness. A 4.8★ company with 300 reviews ranks above a 5.0★ company with 3. Ratings come from public Google listings; we do not host, sell, or edit reviews.
Placement is never for sale
No company can pay to rank higher, get a badge, or edit its profile facts. If we ever introduce featured placement, it will be labeled as advertising and will not affect the ranked order.
Data you can check
Registry data is refreshed periodically (last refresh: October 2026). Every profile links to the official PA PDA registry so you can verify the license yourself.

A company gets a full profile page only when it passes our completeness gate: verified registry match, public rating, real photos, and a data-backed description. Companies below the gate still appear in listings — marked honestly, without invented details.
